Role Description
The SAP Basis Administrator is a critical role responsible for the technical foundation, health, and performance of the entire SAP landscape, including SAP ECC6 and future environments. This expert ensures the high availability, security, and scalability of our SAP systems, which are vital to our core business operations. The administrator acts as the cornerstone of the technical SAP environment, collaborating with infrastructure, security, and functional teams to deliver a robust, compliant, and high-performing platform for the business, with a key focus on preparing for the future migration to S/4HANA.
Missions
- Ensure the stability, performance, and security of the entire SAP landscape (DEV, QAS, PROD).
- Manage and execute all technical administration tasks including installations, upgrades, patches, and system refreshes for SAP ECC6 and other components.
- Proactively monitor and optimize the SAP systems to prevent issues and ensure optimal resource utilization.
- Serve as the primary technical owner for SAP integrations and user access management.
- Play a key role in the technical preparation and execution of the S/4HANA migration project.
Tasks
– System Management & Operations:
- Perform daily administration and health checks of the SAP ECC6 environment and other SAP systems.
- Manage the complete SAP transport system (CTS/TMS) across all landscapes (DEV, QAS, PROD).
- Execute client administration tasks: client copies, refreshes, and maintenance.
– Installation, Configuration, & Maintenance:
- Manage installations, updates, and application of Support Packages and Add-Ons.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, kernel updates, and enhancement packages.
- Configure and manage background job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
– Performance & High Availability:
- Ensure performance management through continuous monitoring, tuning, and setting up alerts.
- Implement and maintain high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, including managing backup and restore operations.
– Security & User Administration:
- Supervise user management, authorizations, and SAP roles (user creation, deletion, locking) in coordination with security teams.
- Support role-based access control (RBAC) and assist in security audits.
– Integration & Interfaces:
- Manage and support SAP integrations via RFC connections, Web Services, and IDocs.
- Ensure the stability and performance of interfaces with external systems (e.g., CRM, SharePoint, Banks).
– S/4HANA Migration & Projects:
- Participate in the preparation and monitoring of the future migration to S/4HANA.
- Provide Basis expertise for technical upgrades and new implementation projects.

Technical Skills
- Proven experience managing SAP ECC environments alongside S/4HANA.
- Solid experience in SAP Basis administration, including SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and NetWeaver components.
- Proficiency in managing transport systems, job scheduling, system copies, and backups.
- Familiarity with OS and database platforms used for SAP (Linux/Windows, Sybase, HANA, Oracle, or MS SQL/SQL Server).
- Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager, SAP Fiori, and system monitoring tools.
- Understanding of security administration (roles, authorizations, user management).
- Experience with high-availability configurations and system performance optimization.
- Familiarity with cloud-based SAP infrastructure (e.g., SAP on Azure/AWS) is a plus.

Education & Experience
